My list of what to pack for Disneyland
There are lots of things to think about if you are packing for your next trip to the magic kingdom. Just a heads up my family only consists of me and my fiance. I know many of you planning this trip have a kid or kids that you are bringing. So my primary list is things I would bring for my situation and then at the end I will have a list of items that you may need for your littles.
Primary List For Disneyland
- Regular Clothing Items and toiletries depending on the time of year that you are going. Most of the year is warm in Anaheim, so think shorts, light shirts, dresses(for the ladies). I really like these Jessie Kidden Mens Shorts on Amazon. For the ladies I love is Disney Themed dress, comes in many styles! They are really comfy and have plenty of pockets for carrying things around the park. I would however have some warmer clothes for the evening, as it does get a tad bit chilly at night time some of the year. However if you are going in November through February you would primarily would want warm clothes.
- Good Shoes are probably the most important item while packing for Disney as you will be putting lots of steps in each day. I personally love Mens Sketcher Walking Shoes, they are like walking on a cloud, stretch material, and also ones you don’t have to tie. For the ladies same kind of shoe too, I love these Womens Sketcher Walking Shoes.
- Sunglasses are another vital item to remember and also not skimp on. You have to protect your eyes from all of the California sun! I love these Mens Burberry Designer Sunglasses! For the girls looking for a new pair of shades check out these Kate Spade Designer Sunglasses!
- Hats or head coverings are important to keep that fierce California sun from scorching your dome. Here are some that I like for Summer and Spring: Men’s Hurley Baseball Cap or Women’s Beach Hat. For Winter and Fall Season I’g get a Men’s Beanie to keep you nice and warm! For ladies I’d get a Women’s Winter Knitted hat!
- Backpack(s) are very convenient for storing drinks, snacks, souvenirs, or any other miscellaneous products around without too much trouble. Just make sure your backpack meets the Disneyland bag policy, which is must be no larger than 24″ long x 15″ wide x 18″ high. I really like my The Northface Backpack. It has plenty of pockets for storage and is very durable. They are expensive, but made to last!
- Water Bottles are handy to have at the park because buying water or individual drinks at Disneyland can add up quickly! I love my Owala Water Bottle! Has a triggered sipper that is connected to a straw, so you can drink with little effort. Also if you run out of water, there are a ton of filling stations around the park, you can see on The Disney App where they are located.
- Sunscreen is pretty much essential year round in California, so make sure to bring some with you on park days to avoid being price gouged by buying it in the park.
- Charger and Power Bank for your cell phone are must have to bring with you, the power bank is useful if you spend all day in the park or are taking lots of video or pictures to capture memories.
- Camera or Phone with good camera, most people have decent cameras on their phones. But if you want really good quality photos and videos bring a standalone camera.
- Snacks are a win win if you are a budget conscious like me. I like these Jack Links Snacks for a decent low fat high protein snack. Buying all of the snacks in the park could cost you a fortune. I’d rather enjoy experiences with my money and not spend a fortune on overpriced food.
- Park Passes and Accommodations Information along with your Photo ID or Passports are obvious, but some people may forget these essential items. You can have digital versions of the park passes on you phone, but just to be safe have printed version just in case.
- Hand Sanitizer is great to have at the park because you will be touching things that 1000’s of people have touched that day.
- First Aid Travel Kit just in case you are clumsy like me and get hurt.
Essential Items to bring if you are bringing kids:
- Light Weight Stroller if you have really little ones that way you dont have to wait in the long line just to rent one.
- Character Costumes for kids that want to dress like their favorite characters.
- Tide Pens and Cleaning Wipes for messes that are bound to happen with your kids. Be prepared by packing these.
- Ponchos would be good if you plan to go on rides that make you wet or also if it’s rainy weather and you are attending the parade.
- Snack Containers are useful if you have kids with you and want to bring a variety of their favorite snacks.
- Day Bag for carrying extra clothes and toiletries.
- Tablet to keep kids busy during down time.
